He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Cunis and Isabelle Cunis of Marlborough, Massachusetts.. He is survived by: his wife Elaine; his children, Peter (Annelies), Debbie (Nick) and Christopher (Wende); his grandchildren, Tyler, Emily, Isabelle, Hannah and Lily; and his siblings, Elieen Corbett and Joe Cunis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Charlie persevered through the symptoms of Parkinson's disease with grace, dignity and good humor for nearly two decades.
