She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Sam Dorsey and Rose Ann Dean; her husband William Roger Jackson, Sr.; her close friend Hattie Ross; her children, Stephanie Melendez (Marcos) and Dr. Tanisha Jackson; her siblings, Dorothy Banks, James Dorsey and Jack Dorsey; and also William Jackson, Jr. (Liza).
In her earlier years, she and her best friend, Hattie Ross, organized a social and charity club for exceptional children named "The Sparkletts" because they wanted to put a spark in their lives.
