He is survived by: his significant other Patty Sherer; his siblings, Karen Doughty, Sheryl Augusbury (Ed), Bruce Sherer (Sharon), Sharon Morgan, Carole Mills (Jeff) and Bobby Sherer (Mandy); his children, Nathan McCoy, Christopher McCoy (Gus), Avis Devlin (Bret), Josh McCoy (Jamie), Michael Sherer (Lyndsey) and Matthew Sherer (Danielle); and his grandchildren, Mayrene, Nataleigh, Andrew, Thomas, Joseph, Carley, Luke and Keegan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Don Sherer, to the Bennett or Strasburg fire departments.
