It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leland Hammond of Sterling, Colorado, born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, who passed away on November 13, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Robert Hammond and Laura Rasmina Rasmussen; his wife Florence Irene Hurt; and his siblings, Iva Kirsey (Virgil), MaryAnn Overton (Clyde), Jane Burdi, Charles Hammond, Burt Hammond (Anne) and Carlos Hammond.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Hammond of Sterling, CO, Randy (Melissa Hammond), Kathy (Tim Peterson), Kristi (Jeff Peterson), Karen Simpson of Pinedale, WY and Kelley (Jess Schneider). He is also survived by 33 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter.
