He was predeceased by: his son Hector; and his grandsons, Cesar Alejandro Sarmiento and Jacob. He is survived by: his wife Rosa Maria Nunez; and his children, Jaime Nunez (Cynthia), Maria Sarmiento (Manuel), Olga Nunez and Esthela Nunez Schnee (Dale). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
