He is survived by: his wife Ilene Peterson of LaVernia; his children, Darrin Simpson of LaVernia and Karen Simpson (Lanckriet) of Sterling; his grandchildren, Nicholas Simpson, Tiffany Simpson, Taylor Houghton (Mikenna Curlee), Kaitlyn Houghton (Trevor Elliott), Cristen Houghton and Clinton Rockwell; and his siblings, Ronald Simpson (Linda), Andrew Simpson (Linda) and Marilyn Simpson (Paul).
