He was predeceased by: his parents, Ventura Cortez and Cecilia Cortez; and his siblings, Martin, John Cortez and Gregoria Cortez.
He is survived by: his daughter Liza Cortez of New Mexico; his siblings, Maria Sandoval of Texas, Manuel Cortez (Mary) of Commerce City, Rick Cortez of Sterling and Esther Vargas (Cande) of Sterling; and his granddaughter Allissa Albrandt. He is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
