She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Jane Stockham (Williams) and Sydnor Freeman Stockham; her husband Arthur McCarty; her siblings, Vivian Christopher Clark, Lucille Calloway, Glenna Grosclaude, Maurine Blackwell, Morris Stockham, Jack Stockham, Robert Stockham, Tom Christopher, Gerald Christopher and Kenneth Christopher; and her sons-in-law, John Hughes and Carl Johnson.
She is survived by: her children, Sharilyn Johnson, Robert and Julie Hughes; her sister Marilyn Blackwell; and her grandchildren, Toddi Norum, Timothy Johnson, Seth Hughes, Sadie Hughes, Caleb Hughes, David McCarty, Kathy Etchemendy, Mike Busmente, Robbie Busmente, Tony Busmente, Chantal Davis and John Hughes Jr. Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to Safe Place for Pets, an organization that cares for and re-homes pets of those in hospice care.
