He was predeceased by: his parents, William Carl Nielsen and Zona Leatrice Nielsen (Dunsmore); and his siblings, Chris, Eric Nielsen, Susan Knapp, Betty Buchholz and Dorthea Nielsen.
He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Nielsen; his children, Desire'Barker of Buffalo Gap, S. D. and Cole Nielsen (Krista) of Buffalo Gap, S. D.; his sisters, Lenora Psotta (Eddie) of Greeley, CO and Edie Nielsen; his brothers-in-law, Pat Buchholz of Bakersfield, CA. and Phillip Knapp of Hot Springs, S. D.; and his aunt Reva Griffith.
