He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest DeSoto and Roma DeSoto (Wilson); his sister Marsha Ogley (Dennis); and his niece Chelsea Ogley. He is survived by: his daughter Alyssa DeSoto; and his sisters, Sandy Kiel (Tom) and Diane Rhodes (Dennis). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
