He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Carroll Brooks and Linda Carruthers Brooks; his brother James Webster Brooks; and his son James Winfried Brooks. He is survived by: his wife Frieda Brooks; his children, Katie Brooks Robertson (Mike) and Carroll Brooks (Janie); and his grandchildren, Samuel, Phillip, Jake, Lauren and Ben. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
