She was predeceased by: her parents, John Robert and Elva Allen Nickell; her children, Beverly Sue and Theodore Eugene (Bonnie Jo); her grandmothers, Bonnie and Shorty; her husband Shorty; and her siblings, Bobby, Donald Nickell and Arlene Foster.

She is survived by: her children, Brenda Kay (Greg Rigden), Alan Ray (Sandy Hamacher), Dawna Lou (Gordon Eurich) and Ed Schifferns; and her sisters, Joan Bratosh, Wilma Helton and Janet Wells. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
