He was predeceased by: his parents, Oralia Valdez and Joe Ralph Valdez. He is survived by: his spouse Billie Jean; his daughter Jennifer Arnett (Chad) of Salida; his granddaughter Rochelle Tracy (John) of Arvada; his son Shane Valdez; his grandchildren, Brianna Arnett, McKensie, Caleb, Lillian Valdez, Teagan and Kaden Tracy; his siblings, Doris Jewell (Jim Valdez) of Salida and Mike Valdez; and his parents-in-law, Fern and Ralph Crowder.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Valdez would have appreciated a donation to support Colorado's rivers and fisheries.
