He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

“I was so sorry to hear of Richard's passing away. He was such a joy to be around, I met him sometime between 2003 and 2005 when I moved into a house up the hill. Richard had so many great stories about the area from the times way before the development by Tim McCarthy, and growing up here. He was always so cheerful, he would sit on his front porch and wave to me when I drove by. If I stopped by he would invite me in and we would visit. I remember that he loved peanut brittle! Jan Chase”
