He was predeceased by: his parents, Jess DeSantos and Pauline DeSantos; his brothers, Leonard, Fred and Eddie DeSantos; and his brother-in-law Margarito Romero.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara M. DeSantos; his children, James DeSantos II and Saralee Baca (Marlo); his grandchildren, Barbara Rodriguez (Jeremy), James DeSantos III (Tara), Marlo Baca, Damian DeSantos (Corinne) and Brandon Duran; his son Margarito Romero (Fran); his siblings, Joyce Schultes (Harold), Jeri Garbiso and Paul DeSantos; and his close friend Lawrence "Moto" Valdez. He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
