He was predeceased by: his father George Chavez; his stepfather Joe Pacheco; his sister Rosalie Chavez; and his grandparents, Joe, Agnes Tafoya, Jose and Rosita Chavez.
He is survived by: his children, George Chaves Jr., Melinda Chavez and Anthony Chavez; his mother Priscilla Pacheco; his grandchildren, George, Merissa, Miranda and Monica; and his siblings, Yvonne Pacheco, Deborah Pacheco, Darrell Chavez and Renee Pacheco. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins extended family and friends.
