He was predeceased by: his parents, Emilio Otero and Virginia Otero-Franco; his son Michael Otero; his brother Ismael Otero-Franco (Tito); and his mother-in-law Mary Santiago (Claudia De La).
He is survived by: his daughters, Brenda Otero and Michelle Otero; his grandchildren, Mark Otero, Rayna Otero, Alishia Otero, Derek Giroux (Cylina) and Emilio Giroux-Otero; his sisters, Lucy Vera (Nelson) and Raquel Otero-Franco; and the mother of his children Stella Reyes (Antonio). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family.
