He was predeceased by: his parents, Bennie Carl Thorson and Sylvia Ina Thorson; and his sisters, Sonja Just and Marina Thorson. He is survived by: his children, Scott Thorson (Shana) of Canon City and Leslie Adamic (Chad) of Penrose; his granddaughters, Breahnae Thorson, Thyrrni Thorson, Eleanor Thorson, Olive Thorson, Annika Adamic, Nora Adamic and Skadi Adamic; his siblings, Bjorne Thorson, Ina Finch (Bill), Carlina Henry (Allen Mason) and Christina Hulin; his nephew Michael Finch; and his nieces, Molly Thorson and Jessica Mason. He is also survived by numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
