He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlotte Lillian Oldershaw and Sidney Leroy Carkin; and his siblings, Norman Richard Carkin, Alfred Leroy Carkin, Gerald Ernest Carkin, Roger Clarence Carkin, Sidney Carkin, Jr. and Carole Jane DeCicco.
He is survived by: his wife Helen Knowles Carkin; his children, Sally Donna Hoffa (Steven A. Hoffa) of Helena, Mary Ann Carkin (Scott Stalker) of Ouray and George Benjamin Carkin, Jr. of Lake City, Colorado; his sisters, Louise Sylvia Scimemi of Groton and Charlotte Lilian Hyden of Leominster, Massachusetts; his grandson Jonathan Travis Carkin (Micaela Akasha) of Loyola-Carkin; and his great grandchild Felix George Teofilo of Loyola-Carkin. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
