It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Maria Zenaida Sandoval of Ordway, Colorado, born in Villanueva, New Mexico, who passed away on July 6, 2022, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Domingo Chavez and Julia Chavez (Roybal); her husband Bennie Sandoval; her son Benjamin Sandoval; and her siblings, Domingo "Junior" Chavez, Luciano Chavez, Gloria Chavez, Dorothy Gutierrez, Flora Esquibel and Magdalena "Maggie" Medina.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Marian, Trinity, Christopher, Keith, Danika, Taryn, Donovan, Hillary, Tiara, Julia and Raymond Jr.; her goddaughter Rhonda; her children, Susie Martinez (Cruz) of Las Animas, Teresa Sandoval of Rocky Ford and Raymond Sandoval of La Junta; and her sisters, Stella Torrez and Ramona Chavez. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.
