He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Howard Kalar and Edith Ester Vaughn; his siblings, Lawrence Kalar, Barbara Nichols and Martha Nash; his son Luke Kalar; and his granddaughter Jessica Henry.

He is survived by : his sister Flora Sturgeon; his daughter Belinda Kalar Minerich; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Kurlykova and Sarah Kalar; his great grandchildren, Alyona Kurlykova and Tikhon Kurlykova (family: Michael, Mary Hert); and his grandchildren, Brandon Hert (Kimmy Hert), Benjamin Hert, Travis Hert and Grayce Hert. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his special family.

A graveside service was held on Friday, June 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Grand View Cemetery (6450 Ct, Montrose, CO 81403).
