He is survived by: his daughter Madison Paterson; his parents, Jim Ranck and Linda Paterson; his siblings, Tiffany Schreiber, James Ranck (Rebecca Scoles), Kelly Surma-Paterson, Carolyn McGuinness (Brian McGuinness), Phylicia Ranck (Jay Baker), Kenneth Paterson (Bianca Rodriguez), Honorary and April Beal; his grandparents, Velma Jean Paterson and William B. Hockinson; his pet Spike; and his nieces and nephews, Sydney Colby, Harmony Ranck, Annalise McGuinness, Aubrey Ranck, Americus, Jason Paterson, Josiah McGuinness, Donovan Gonzales, Kevin McGuinness and Noah Ranck.

His favorite job, also his last job, was being home with his daughter homeschooling during the recent pandemic.
