He is survived by: his wife Della Silva; his daughter Emily Bates (Kelly); his daughter-in-law Sheila Quintana; his grandchildren, Brandon Bates (Cassandra), Kristen Bates, Megan Quintana, Joel Quintana and Lauren Quintana; his great grandchildren, Hadley and Bennett Bates; and his sisters, Esther Rodriguez (Fred) and Priscilla.
