He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Irene Romero of Monte Vista, Colorado.; his children, Waldo Romero (Cynthia) of Alamosa and Moriah Trujillo (Ryan) of Alamosa, Colorado.; his grandchildren, Iliana, Analise Martinez, Ayden, Jasiah, Zavian, Waylon Romero, Rylee and Zoey Trujillo; his siblings, Eddie, Ronnie, Tony, Johnnie, Michael Romero, Margaret Garcia, Geraldine Duran, Rosemary Torres and Kathy Martinez; his parents, Ubaldo Romero and Celina Romero (Gallegos); his brothers, Alfonso and Rudy Romero; and his daughter Stephanie Lynn Romero of La Jara.
