He was predeceased by: his brother Art Valesquez; his wife Cordelia Velasquez; his parents, Jose M. Velasquez and Marita Valdez Velasquez; and his children, Jesusito Velasquez and Theresa Duran.
He is survived by: his children, Anita Mondragon (Joe) of Monte Vista, CO, Rita Gasper (John) of Monte Vista, CO, Josephine Lopez (Wayne) of Alamosa, CO, Pressie Velasquez of Rye, CO, Frances Velasquez of Rye, CO, Steve Velasquez, Martin Velasquez (Chelsea) of Monte Vista, CO and Ernie Velasquez Jr. of Pueblo, CO; his son-in-law Randy Duran of Monte Vista, CO; his grandchildren, Randy, Jesus, Mario, Brandon, Kathy, Mariah, Michael, Rocky, Ruby-Jo, Lucinda, Nefeteri, Hunter, Gianna, Liam and Evangeline; his great great grandchild Sister Candi Maes (Jim); and his sister-in-law Kay Velasquez.
A rosary was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 6:00 PM at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church (425 Batterson St, Monte Vista, CO 81144). A Mass was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
