She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe B. Salazar and Elbiria Salazar; her son Leo Mascarenas Jr. (Luis Herrera); her great grandchild Kamden Fresquez; and her siblings, Clorinda Tafoya, Celina Cisneros, Eleanor Salazar and Mel Salazar.
She is survived by: her daughter Yvonne Galindo (Ben Maestas); her grandchildren, Jessica Ornelas, Elycet Whitmore (Richard), Joel Abril, Kiara Fresquez (Aaron), Cienna Villabos and Ashlee David; her great grandchildren, Marco, Zayli Ornelas, Aubrielle Whitmore, Ian Fresquez and Jayceon Martínez; her brothers, Joe Salazar (Sylvia), Amarante Salazar (Marilyn), Toby Salazar (Charlotte Lewis), Leonard Salazar (Frances) and Kenneth Salazar (Anna); her niece Donna Chacon (Alex); and her nephew Gary Salazar.
A rosary was held on Friday, April 25th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Joseph Catholic Church (425 Batterson St, Monte Vista, CO 81144). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the San Luis Valley Cemetery (3762 US-160, Monte Vista, CO 81144).
