He is survived by: his children, Jessica Ann Counts of Greeley and John Mark Merrill of Bigfork, Montana; his siblings, Martha Ann Farrow of Simpsonville, James M. Merrill (Beth) of Spartanburg, Joseph Steven Merrill (Katherine) of Greenville and Phillip L. Merrill of Greenville; and his grandchildren, Jayden Merrill, Keira Merrill, Lily Counts, Viola Counts and Aiyana Counts. He is also survived by eight nieces; two nephews and 23 grandnieces and grandnephews.
