He is survived by: his wife Bartola Melendez; and his daughters, Natalia Melendez Martinez, Maguerita Melendez Barron (Hugo Barron), Olga Melendez Cordero (Victor Corero), Leticia Melendez Aldana (Ismael Aldana) and Irma Melendez Madera (Alejandro Madera). He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and his great granddaughter.
