It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven R. Wertz of McClave, Colorado, born in Las Animas, Colorado, who passed away on March 4, 2022, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Chuck Hawkins, Jim Hawkins and Dave Snyder. He is survived by: his parents, Ivon R. Wertz and Edna M. Wertz (Reed) of McClave; his wife Barb; his children, Char Herrera (Bryan) of Lamar, Shelby Homm (Justin) of Wiley and Aaron Wertz (Darcie) of Dumas, TX.; his grandchildren, Rylan, Ansley, Reed Herrera, Layton, Emmett, Everly, Charlie Homm, Eli and Jonah Wertz; his siblings, Stan Wertz (Connie) of Lamar, Rhonda Snyder of McClave and Brent Wertz of McClave; his siblings-in-law, Linda Hawkins of Lamar and Joe Hawkins (Gail) of Orchard, CO; and his parents-in-law, Charles and Betty Hawkins of Lamar. He is also survived by Numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
