He was predeceased by: his father Donald Rhoades. He is survived by: his mother Clema Rhoades; his wife Phyllis Stoffel of Waukegan, Illinois.; his sons, Dayne Rhoades (Ashley) and Ryan Rhoades (Megan); his grandchildren, Quentin, Sebastian, Warren and Cecilia; and his sisters, Vindy Couchman (Bob) and Adena Jones (Jeff). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Since Damon's diagnosis of Young Onset Alzheimer's Disease in 2020 at age 59, his wish was to continue to travel.
