He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Ellen (Throckmorton) and George Washington McLean; his siblings, Robert, Frederick, Leonard, Martha, Alice, Helen Howell, Betty Birdsill and Patricia; and his son Michael McLean.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Patricia McCormack; his daughter Debra Drew; his brother Gene; his grandsons, Jeffrey McLean, Michael Drew and Jeffrey Drew; and his great grandchildren, Madison McLean, Alexia McLean, Dexter Drew, Jaiden Drew and Darius Drew. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
