He is survived by: his siblings, Marvin Nelson (Lisa), Martin Nelson (Dyna), Matt Nelson (Kelli), Margie Beard (Delbert) and Monica Hazy (Joel); and his goddaughter Amber Meaney. He is also survived by the uncle that his nieces and nephews.
