He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Cyde and Ada Rowan (Barnes); his wife Bonnie Rowan (Bowles); his grandson Xander Sharpe Rowan; and his sister-in-law Lorene Thompson of Lamar, CO.
He is survived by: his children, Jay Rowan of Lamar and Sheila Hosick (Colt) of McCook, NE; his daughter-in-law Monette Sutphin of Lamar, CO; his sister Zanetta Kelley of Houston, TX; and his grandchildren, Macy Elway Rowan and Canyon River Hosick. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
