He was predeceased by: his son Gilbert Rael; and his siblings, Hildo Rael, Helen Wratislaw, Eva Cordova and Anna Rael.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Rael (Martinez); his children, Ernest Rael Jr., Athan Rael and Gloria Fuentes (Rael); and his grandchildren, Anthony Rael, Carla Maniscalco (Rael), Phyllis Felix Paul Rael (Rael), Charlene Estrada (Fuentes), Roman Fuentes and Lisa Mahoney (Rael). He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; as well as sister, Rosie Ward and numerous nieces and nephews.
