He is survived by: his wife Dorothy J. Sorenson; his children, Martin Ruff (Brenda) of Livermore, Colorado, Lori Murphy (Mike) of Dacono, Colorado and Doug Ruff (Leah) of Hermosa Beach, California.; his grandchildren, Bailey Murphy, Hannah Windholz (Matthew), Brandi Ruff and Brandon Ruff (Demi); his stepgrandchildren, Breanne and Dillon Phillips; his great grandchildren, Liam and Lily Windholz; and his siblings-in-law, Dolores Goering, Albert Meyer and Ton Stoner. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
