He is survived by: his children, Andrew, Angela Keniston (Brett) and Anna Smith (Gareth); and his grandchildren, William, Alexys, Owen, Joyelle, Ellie and Sebastian. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.

“To the family of Gerald Kelso: I was very sorry to learn about Gerald's passing, and would like to offer my sincere condolences. I am the archaeologist who succeeded Gerald at NRCS-Phoenix after he retired. I only had the opportunity to meet him once, about 2 or 3 years after he retired, but we spoke by phone and corresponded by email a few times while I was at NRCS. Gerald had a long and fruitful life.
