It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edwin Clayton McDowell Jr. of Lafayette, Colorado, born in Greeley, Colorado, who passed away on April 2, 2021, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandfather Edwin Clayton McDowell, Jr.; his parents, Edwin C. McDowell, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille Wagner; his grandchildren, Bill McDowell of Lafayette, Beth McDowell Baldwin (Jason), Kendall, Clayton Baldwin of Boulder, CO, Mike McDowell (Kara), Henry, Maria and Caroline McDowell of Boulder, CO.; his brother Jim McDowell (Barbara) of Yarmouth Port, MA; his wife Kay Short McDowell; and his brother Ted McDowell. He was also cherished by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to current COVID restrictions, the family will hold a private memorial service with plans for a Celebration of Life service later in the year.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in his name to TRU Community Care, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, CO 80026 or the YMCA of Northern Colorado, 2800 Dagny Way, Lafayette, CO 80026 Throughout his battle with cancer, Ed was at peace with the fragility of life.
