He was predeceased by: his parents, Cruz, Sr. Betancur and Mary Betancur (Lucero); his daughter Mary Lou Betancur; and his siblings, Rose Marie, Linda Sue, Judith Ann Betancur, Kenneth Betancur of Cheraw and Robert Lucero.
He is survived by: his children, Valerie Vargus (Anthony) of Las Animas and Jesse Tapia (Kim) of Rocky Ford; and his siblings, Ruben Betancur (Margaret) of Denver, Cruz Betancur (Velma) of La Junta, Esther Griego of Napa, CA, Patricia Tafoya (Sam) of Littleton, CO and Amelia Betancur of La Junta. He is also survived by grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
