He was predeceased by: his wife Janet Mae; his parents, John William and Hattie Vieva Critchfield; and his siblings, Jacque Lewis, Max Grover, George William, John William Jr., LaVetta, Etta and Beatrice.
He is survived by: his sons, Calvin (Elizabeth) and David (Merlinda); his grandchildren, Janet Carrillo (Chris), Calvin Critchfield Jr. (Tanya), David Critchfield, Misty Critchfield, John Critchfield, Emily (Kashif Khan) and Samuel Torres; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Kaden, Mia, Jett, Chloe, Reese and Isadora. He is also survived by numerous niece and nephews; extended family and friends.
