She was predeceased by: her mother Berneice Lou Hurt (Grett). She is survived by: her father E. Ross Hurt; her grandchildren, Thomas Avila and Lyra Hurt; her children, Kara Hurt-Avila (Tom), Nathan and Eric Hurt; her siblings, Kathy Burnsed, Shirley Cannon and Rick Hurt; and her stepmother Diane Hurt. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
The last years of her life were marked by courage in her struggle with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
