It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leonardo Romero of La Junta, Colorado, who passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jose George and Elsie Romero (Maestas); his siblings, Betty Segura (Joe), Patsy Romero (Donald), Lawrence Romero, Edward Romero and David Martinez; his sister-in-law Cindy Romero; his niece Anna Romero; and his nephews, Donald Romero, Jr., Arturo Romero, Frankie Romero and Johnny Chavez.
He is survived by: his siblings, Joann Aragon (Ben) of Trinidad, CO, Darlene (Rigo Mendoza) of Swink, CO, Mary Jackson (Gary) of Denver, CO, George Romero of Garden City, KS and Frank Romero (Linda) of Denver, CO; his sisters-in-law, Peggy Sue Romero of Rocky Ford, CO and Vickie Romero of Denver, CO; and his niece Eleanor Herrera (Sam) of Colorado Springs, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Inspiration Field (612 Adams Ave, La Junta, CO 81050). A reception will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
