James Gary Long Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Gary Long of La Junta, Colorado, who passed away on February 1, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence G. Long and Marie Long (Morris); his son Gary Long; and his brothers, Donald "Gene" and Glendon Long.
He is survived by: his significant other Janet McGaughey of La Junta, CO; his children, Bradley Long (Tessie Adams) of Goodland, KS and Nichole Travis (Brett) of Lamar, Colorado; his grandchild Kristel Monroe (Dustin) of Bethune, CO; his children, Trella Long of Burlington, CO, Mikel Long (Kelsey) of Burlington, CO, Brittany Keyser (Ted) of Arizona, Reid McGaughey of California and Danzig McGaughey of California; his great grandchildren, Wynston Long of Burlington, CO and Bryson Keyser of Arizona; and his siblings, Merlene Klinkerman (Jim) of La Salle, CO, Lola Baublits (Bub Bland) of Las Animas, CO and Lenda Sumpter (Frank) of Kim, CO. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 15th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cheraw Community Church (204 S 4th St, Cheraw, CO 81030).
