He is survived by: his wife Barbra; his children, Darin Hjelmstad (Yolanda) of Monument and Donna Steger (Scott Dawley) of Englewood, Florida; his sisters, Ellie Brenneman (Derald) of La Junta and Dottie Kinsinger (Phil) of Colorado Springs; his grandsons, Corey Hjelmstad of Monument, Ryan Hjelmstad of Monument and Ian Hjelmstad of Monument; and also, Jaimi Bogart (Darrell) of Flagler and Katie Martinez Jr. (Paul) of La Junta.
