He was predeceased by: his father Edward Francis Matthews; his brother Richard Leroi Matthews; and his nephew Donald Smith. He is survived by: his mother Edith Mae Peltzer Herman (Peltzer); his sisters, Patricia Martinez of Rocky Ford and Vera Matthews of Rocky Ford; his wife Barbara; and his children, Tammy Hopman of Ordway and David Wayne Matthews (Kelly) of Casper, WY. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, friends, neighbors, service buddies and beloved pets.
