She was predeceased by: her parents, Bonnie Riggs and Elmer Riggs; her husband Hershel Carey; and her daughters, Terry Ann Brinson and Christy Jo Carey.
She is survived by: her children, Sandra Carey-Schmidt (Brad) of La Junta, Russ Carey (Laurie) of Trinidad and Devin James Carey (Jen) of Pueblo, Colorado.; her grandchildren, Dustin Roberts (Nichole), Raven Carey, Julia Carey, Hailie Carey, Krystina Carey, Justin Failing, Brandy Failing and Amanda Failing; and her great grandchildren, Dylan and Vivienne Roberts. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fairview Cemetery (402 Potter Dr, La Junta, CO 81050).
