He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Lee and Lucille Frances Baublits (Husted). He is survived by: his wife Shari Diane Thaxton Baublits; his children, Timothy Lee Baublits, Shari Louise Fox (Jonathan) and Jennifer Lynn Howerton (David); and his grandchildren, Sean Fox (Gina), Ashleigh Snoozy (Jon), Joshua Gage (Allie), Sarah Gage, Emilie Fox, Michael Gage (Laura), David Gage and Kyle Howerton.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Horber Funeral Chapel (404 Locust Ave, Las Animas, CO 81054). A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (602 6th St, Las Animas, CO 81054). A burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the Las Animas Cemetery (28082 Co Rd 10, Las Animas, CO 81054).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the First Baptist Church or the John W. Rawlings Heritage Center in care of Horber Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 431, Las Animas, Colorado 81054.
