With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Louise Widmer McCarty Chronister Steele of La Junta, Colorado, who passed away on March 27, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred "William" Henry and Edna Widmer (Waddle); her grandmother Betty; and her husbands, Del McCarty, Don Chronister and Johnny Steele.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael Chronister (Teresa) of La Junta, CO and John Chronister (Mike Salas) of Central City, CO; her grandchild Chris Chronister of Brighton, CO; her son Jerry Don Chronister (Nicole) of Aurora, CO; her great grandchildren, Ivy and Cole Chronister; and her pet Casey. She is also survived by her family and many, many friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Peacock Memorial Chapel (109 E. 4th Street, La Junta, CO 81050).
