He was predeceased by: his parents, Elva Kennedy and Carl Benson; and his siblings, Bill Kennedy, Sandy Thomas and Dee (Ray Snodgrass).
He is survived by: his wife Joan; and also, Lynn, Elwayne Hafen, John Thomas and Verna. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parknson's or KGNU Community Radio in Boulder in support of his favorite radio show "Honky Tonk Heroes.".
