Catherine Schlagel Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Catherine Schlagel of Keenesburg, Colorado, born in Johnstown, Colorado, who passed away on January 6, 2022 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alvin "Al" and Eleanor "Jane" Litzenberger (Elliott); her niece Dona; her brother Neil; her niece Cynthia Litzenberger; her son-in-law Leroy Zimbelman; her daughters, Christie Rupple of Keenesburg, CO, Jill Zimbelman of Prospect Valley, CO, Jennifer Long (Keith) of Mead, CO and Brenda Maughan (Jack) of Fargo, ND.; her grandchildren, Paul Rupple (Amber), Ryan Rupple (Brittney), Chad Rupple (Krystin), Catherine Zimbelman, Erin Haag (Stephen), Kyle Long (Skylar), Nickolas Long (Jacey), Mark Long, Henry, Augustus and Samuel Maughan; her great grandchildren, Mikayla (Brek), Leah, Ethan, Tayven, Dawson, Jensin, Heston, EmmaLynn, Corbyn, Kyndal Rupple, Cooper Zimbelman and Haag; her former husband Ronald Schlagel; her sister Nancy Newton; her sister-in-law Marilyn Litzenberger; and her friend Mary Wafel. She was also cherished by 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
