David Halpain Obituary
David E. Halpain, 68, of Johnstown died at Medical Center of the Rockies on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015 after an extended illness. David was born in Fort Collins to Earl and Leona Halpain on Jan. 8, 1947. David joined the Navy in 1964 and served on the USS Ranger until he was injured by a boiler explosion onboard ship. Back at home he became a mechanic and worked for Giest Conoco.
He was a member of AA and the Serenity Club where he mentored many people suffering as he had. Dave loved his family and they were his entire life. He is survived by his son Scott and his wife Karmon of Johnstown, brother Timothy and Brother-In-Law Roger Stonecipher, grandchildren Samantha McCloud, Conner, McKenna, Gage, and Logan Halpain and great-grandson Gavin McCloud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald and sister June. A funeral service with military honors is scheduled for Thursday, Feb 26, 2015 at 10 AM at the Grace Community Church in Johnstown. Burial will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at 11 AM, Staging area "A".
